SXM Traffic is a free, community-driven traffic reporting platform for the island of St. Maarten / St. Martin. Users can report and view real-time traffic conditions including congestion, accidents, road closures, police activity, flooding, and construction.
All traffic reports on SXM Traffic are submitted by community members and are not independently verified. SXM Traffic does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any report. Reports are provided for informational purposes only.
You should always exercise your own judgment when making driving decisions and not rely solely on information from this app. Road conditions can change rapidly and reports may become outdated.
When submitting reports, you agree to provide truthful, accurate information to the best of your knowledge. Do not submit false or misleading reports. Do not use the app while driving — have a passenger submit reports or pull over safely first.
Abuse of the reporting system, including spam, false reports, or offensive content, may result in your access being limited.
SXM Traffic is an independent community project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government entity, law enforcement agency, or official traffic authority on either the Dutch (Sint Maarten) or French (Saint-Martin) side of the island.
SXM Traffic is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages, losses, or consequences arising from your use of the app or reliance on community-submitted reports. This includes but is not limited to delays, route choices, or decisions made based on information displayed in the app.
We aim to keep SXM Traffic available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. The app may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or due to circumstances beyond our control.
SXM Traffic does not require registration or an account. You do not need to provide your name, email, phone number, or any personal information to use the app or submit reports.
When you submit a traffic report, we store the following information:
The type of report (e.g., traffic jam, accident), the location you selected on the map, the severity level, any optional comment you write, a one-way encrypted hash of your IP address (used only to prevent spam — this cannot be reversed to identify you), and the date and time of the report.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, device identifiers, GPS tracking data, browsing history, or any other personally identifiable information. We do not use cookies for tracking. We do not sell, share, or transfer any data to third parties.
If you choose to use your GPS location when submitting a report, that location is used only for placing the report on the map. We do not track your location over time or store any location history. You can always set the report location manually by tapping the map instead of using GPS.
Traffic reports automatically expire and are removed from the active map after 4 hours. This keeps the map current and relevant.
SXM Traffic uses OpenStreetMap for map tiles. When you load the map, your browser connects to OpenStreetMap's servers to display the map. OpenStreetMap has its own privacy policy which you can review at openstreetmap.org.
We may update these terms and privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
If you have questions about these terms or the privacy policy, you can reach us through the SXM Traffic website.
